Nodes have a maximum transmission range of 100 meters. Time is divided into epochs. An ideal MAC layer is assumed. There is no medium contention nor hidden-node scenario within the simulation as it is assumed that during an epoch all nodes can complete their transmission. The transmission medium is error free. A bidirectional link between two nodes is assumed upon reception of a beacon message.
However, mobility does introduce problems with the accuracy of information available (through beacon messages) to the mechanism when determining whether or not to rebroadcast. Therefore, future work should consider the effects non-ideal MAC layers and mobility have upon optimised flooding mechanisms.
